Practice makes perfect when it comes to sitting your ND DMV Written Exam. Get all of the practice that you need with our prep test. Each of the questions comes directly from the official ND DMV driver’s manual so it will be just as if you’re taking the actual test when you answer the questions on the practice test. The questions on the official test may be worded a bit differently, but the context is the same. This is the best way to get ready for the test.
What’s Included in the Practice Test
When you drive around the roads in ND, you come across various signs, and most of them are part of this practice test. You will encounter questions about warning, informational, guide, emergency, and regulatory road signs, along with answers for every question. If you aren’t sure of the answer, give your best guess and make a note of it. You’ll need to study that question some more before you go into the DMV and take the test. If you do know the answer, you can cross that subject off your list. You know that thing well and you’re ready to move forward. Your answers are graded as you move through the test so you will not have any doubt regarding which subjects you know and which ones you don’t. This will give you the confidence you need to take the test.
Are You Ready for Test Day?
You don’t have to rush into test day. Don’t take the test until you get all of your practice test questions correct. That way, you will be certain to ace the official test at the ND DMV. When you sit for the official test, you will feel like you are retaking a test that you have already taken numerous times. That will make the process much easier. If you’re ready to ace your ND DMV Road Signs Test, get started with this practice test. It will make your official test a breeze.

If you only study the official manual, your odds of passing are a terrible 49%. That's the average DMV test pass rate in the US. The guide they give you at the DMV isn’t written to promote rapid learning. No matter how smart you are, it has a way to make you feel dumb: there are way too many things to remember all at once. How do you even know what you'll be tested on?

To start driving in North Dakota, you’ll need to pass a written knowledge exam. The written test consists of 25 multiple-choice questions based on the 2019 North Dakota Driver’s Guide and you’ll need to correctly answer a minimum of 20 of the 25 questions to pass. If you’re 14 or 15, you may take the written exam if you’ve completed a driver’s education course and you will then be required to hold your permit for a year before you apply for your license. If you’re between 16 and 18, you’ll only need to hold your permit for six months. The written knowledge test can be taken at your local DOT office. Be sure to bring a $5 testing fee, $15 permit fee, proof of identity, your social security number, a sponsor’s signature if you’re under 18, and proof of residence. You’ll also be required to take a standard eye exam. When you’re ready to take your road test, it will be an additional $5 fee. If you’re not able to pass your written test on the first try, you may come back as early as the next day to retest. Use this DOT practice test to help you study and pass your knowledge exam on the first attempt.
